Tower for Humanity Team Completes 31-Foot Toy Timber Log Replica of NYC’s Empire State Building in the Micronesia Mall Center Court– Just in Time for the Mall’s 36th Anniversary!

Thursday, August 8, 2024 marked Micronesia Mall’s 36th year on Guam as a hub for shopping, dining, and entertainment. To celebrate this milestone, Micronesia Mall has partnered with the Tower for Humanity team led by Guinness World Record-holding brothers Brandon and Landon Aydlett, known for their impressive toy timber log builds for charity.

Just before 5:00pm on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, they completed their most ambitious project yet—a 31-foot replica of New York City’s Empire State Building in the Micronesia Mall Center Court. Mallgoers applauded as the 23-foot tower was topped with an 8-foot spire and a giant teddy bear in a Micronesia Mall shirt and cap. The completion of the tower was livestreamed and shared on the Tower for Humanity’s and Micronesia Mall’s social media pages.

This build highlighted the Mall’s selected nonprofit partners for this event: Alee Shelters, Harvest House, and VARO. Many shoppers stopped by to snap photos of the build in progress, amazed by the larger-than-life sight in the Center Court while others visited the nonprofits to learn about their organizations and donate to their causes. As with previous projects led by the Aydlett brothers, this creation drew attention to these nonprofits in a uniquely entertaining and imaginative way, achieved only by a duo as creatively whimsical as they are precise and calculated.

The 8-foot spire is made of an array of colorful sponsored logs. Since August 1st, representatives from Alee Shelters, Harvest House, and VARO have been stationed in the Micronesia Mall Center Court collecting donations through the Sponsor-A-Log initiative. Members of the community were encouraged to stop by the Center Court and make a donation to receive a log that they would then decorate and personalize to their liking, to be added to current and future builds by the Tower for Humanity team. There is still time to sponsor logs! Donations will continue to be collected by nonprofits in the Center Court until the tower’s dismantling, set for Monday, August 12, 2024.

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF GRAND PRIZE RAFFLES

• You must be 18 years of age or older to enter the raffle drawings.
• Must present a valid government-issued photo identification for proof of identity and age for both registration and prize release.
• Limit one (1) entry per person. Raffle tickets/entries are not transferable.

• You must be present to win at the raffle drawings. No proxies allowed.
• Raffle drawings will be held at 1:00pm, 2:00pm and 3:00pm. Only entries in the raffle drum at the time of each drawing will be considered valid. You may not drop in entries after each drawing has started (as announced by emcee).
• Only Guam residents who are US citizens, FSM citizens or permanent resident aliens are eligible to participate in the raffle drawing. Active-duty military personnel and spouses, foreign workers with valid visas, foreign students and spouses with valid visas are considered residents of Guam. Tourists are non-residents of Guam and are not eligible to enter the raffle drawing.
• All taxes and fees are the responsibility of the winners.
• Reproduction of entry forms is not valid. All entries from persons violating raffle drawing rules are voided.
• All stated expiration dates and deadlines cannot be extended.
• Prizes are not transferable. Winners do not have the option to substitute their prize. Micronesia Mall reserves the right to substitute the prize with another item of equal or higher value.
• All prizes are non-refundable, non-commissionable, non-redeemable for cash, and will not be replaced if lost, stolen or damaged.
• Contestants’ contact information may be shared with Goodwind Travel and Philippine Airlines.
• Separate terms and conditions apply to the Philippine Airlines round trip ticket.
• By participating, you agree to hold harmless Goodwind Development Corporation, Micronesia Mall, Philippine Airlines, and Goodwind Travel employees and all event sponsors and their officers, managers, and employees from any liability arising from your participation in this promotion including any decision by management to forfeit a prize due to your violating rules and regulations provided that there is reasonable proof of violation.
• By entering in the contest, participants agree to all terms and conditions and give Philippine Airlines, Goodwind Travel, and Micronesia Mall the right to use their names and to take video/audio recordings and photos of them during the raffle drawing and overall promotion period for promotional purposes, including without limitation for advertising, commercials, publicity and marketing of Philippine Airlines, Goodwind Travel, and/or Micronesia Mall.
